The
smooth has also kept faithfully to the
original type of Chow rather than conforming to the
passing fashions of heavier type which has
happened to their rough brothers.
The Chow Chow by Diana Phillips
It
is a shame that a lot of the genetic material which came from China
and England has been lost here on the continent, decreasing the
available potential and making it necessary to use rough-coated
individuals in breeding programs. Therefore we should encourage
and assist the idealists who fear no difficulties in achieving their
goal of maintaining this wonderful variety of our great breed.
